    2. I can't believe how much was packed into this short story! Leila, half-Arab, was purchased for her virginity 10 years ago. Her new husband wanted a son, and none of his other two wives had been able to give him one. She suffered at his hands for being unable to give him a child. Khalid became her new husband, but after one night together, he abandoned her at his stepmother's home in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean. Khalid, though he loved Leila, was ashamed of his reasons for marry [...]

    3. An endearing and electrifying story of a love that cannot and will not be denied. I love how Muslim culture is portrayed in this book, and I appreciate the author's skill in creating two complex, believable and well-developed characters in a novella length book. I found it to be a refreshing eye-opener, and I would love to read more of these types of culture-centric stories. What this author achieved here is certainly not easy to do in a short tale, but it was accomplished flawlessly and seamles [...]

    4. Oh my lord I am in love with this man. I loved this story. Leila has had a hard life but her knight in shining armour comes in one hell of a sexy package. I admit I did not see the twist at the end of this story coming at all but i loved it so much. I really want more of this couple i would so love to see what the future holds for them. Also I will be the first one to admit i know next to nothing about the muslim religion and but i am thinking some of their traditions western men could look at a [...]

    5. Once Upon a Second Chance was not only an amazing read, but easy to fall into. In this tale, Zee Monodee takes on an unusual topic in the western world as we know it. I got the chance to learn so much about a completely foreign culture, that of Arabic Muslims. I have friends that are Muslim, but the most I really understand can be called basic at best, such as the way women cover themselves with burkas, polygamy, and of Allah. But in this story I was thrust into culture shock as I waded into the [...]

Then Khalid stepped in and propsed with a dowry. One night together was all he gave them befor he drugged her and sent her to live with his stepmother.Leila never understood what or the w [...]

    7. The book was short, but wonderful. Ms. Monodee writes with a delightful descriptive flair. I could see every scene in my mind's eye as clearly as if I was there. Mauritius sounds like a beautiful island. The relationship between Leila and Khalid was intense. I did not expect the depth of emotions that Ms. Monodee was able to bring forth in such a short read, but she was able to portray a myriad of them. I learned quite a few things about the Muslim faith that I didn’t know before and this impre [...]

    8. It was lovely to see Leila take back what she wanted for a change and what she wanted was Khalid, the super hot hero of Once Upon A Second Chance. Good romance!
