    1. This book started out promising but ultimately the characters were cardboard cutouts, I need characters to be fleshed out just a bit more to keep my attention. Being a Christian fiction book, I found there was a lack of spiritual depth, just the Biblical basics that kept it within the genre. Not enough meat for this gal.

    2. Awesome read! diann Mills is a great writer and here we get the chance to read her first story. Journey of the Heart is a compelling read about a young woman named Katie who lived among Comanches until her father's untimely death. Forced to return to the white man's world, she is torn between two worlds. secrets are revealed and the past is unfolded in this delightful read. The bonus story is also a great read

    3. Struggled through both of these stories. Just not interesting enough for me, but maybe someone else would find it fascinating. DiAnn Mills is a wonderful author as I have read other books she has written. This one just didn't pull me in.

    4. I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Thank you the opinions are 100% my own. Journey of the Heart DiAnn Mills The novel starts off with Katie helping her father he is sick with a fever. He makes her promise to go back to the white people. Since she and her pa lived with the Comanche. She promises her pa she will. Even though she is Lone Eagle's (wife). She heads back to white people in the fort. She believes that the white people will kick her out be [...]

    5. Katie Colter’s father has died and his last wish was for her to join her only living family at the nearby Fort Davis. She doesn’t want to leave the Comanche tribe she has grown up with or the indian warrior she has been pledged to marry. But a promise is a promise so Katie sets out for the fort and a new life there.Sergeant Peyton Sinclair is the first person to welcome Katie to the fort and help her get settled at her aunt and uncle’s home. Adjusting is difficult, but most perplexing for [...]

    6. "Journey of the Heart" is a Christian historical set in 1857. It's about 192 pages long. The heroine obeys her father's wish for her to return to her relatives at the fort, but she doesn't want to leave the Indians. She's sad, but she tries to be thankful for the kindness shown to her. As time passes, she comes to understand why her father wanted her to return, but Lone Eagle isn't willing to let her go. There's a sense of threat from him that adds an underlying tension to the story. I enjoyed t [...]

    7. Journey of the Heart DiAnn MillsKatie promises her father that she will go back to live with her white relatives after he dies. She is promised to Lone Eagle, but obeys her father. She is thoroughly emeshed in Indian life and culture. She believes in the Indian spirit. When she returns to the fort to live with her Aunt and Uncle they tell her about God, but don’t condemn her for believing in the spirits. She also meets Peyton who wants to court her. There is underlying tension in the story as [...]

    8. I absolutely loved and adored this book. I'm a history major and I love love love historical romances. Especially ones that tie in Native American communities as well. However, I have learned over the years that it is hard to write that context without making one side"evil". DiAnn though wrote it absolutely beautiful. I loved it so so so much! Both stories were amazing and heartwarming and I am thankful I got to read them!

    9. This is DiAnn Mills first novel. I'm so glad her husband challenged her to write it. It launched her writing career into a magnificent realm. It's hard to believe it's her first book as it stands up to her standards of today. The story is well told and the characters are developed in such a way that you can really relate to them. If you love DiAnn Mills, don't miss this first book in her collection.
